3D Product Configurator Development
Introduction - 3D product configurators
A 3D configurator lets a customer rotate a sofa, swap a jewelry finish, or preview a custom sneaker colorway directly in the browser - no app install, no waiting for a rendered image from your design team. For brands selling customizable products, it's usually the single biggest lever on cart abandonment: buyers commit faster when they can see exactly what they're getting.
We build these on Three.js or React Three Fiber, loading optimized glTF models with swappable material/texture layers. The heavy 3D work stays in the browser's GPU pipeline; your product data (SKUs, price deltas per option) stays in a normal backend you can edit without touching 3D code.
Where a configurator actually pays for itself
It matters most when a product has genuine visual variation that photos can't cover affordably - furniture in 12 fabric options, jewelry in 4 metals, apparel in seasonal colorways. Shooting real photography for every combination is expensive and slow to update; a configurator with a handful of base 3D models covers the same ground and updates in minutes when you add a new finish.
It matters less for products where variation is purely functional (storage capacity, size only) - we'll tell you honestly if a simpler zoom-and-photo gallery serves your catalog better before you spend on 3D.
What's included
- Optimized glTF/GLB model pipeline (compressed for mobile load times)
- Real-time material, color and texture swapping UI
- Camera controls tuned for product viewing (orbit, zoom limits, reset view)
- Price/SKU logic tied to selected configuration
- Mobile and tablet touch support, not just desktop mouse
- Fallback static image for browsers without WebGL support
Our process
1. Model & option audit
We review your existing product photography or CAD files and map out which variants are 3D-swappable versus requiring separate models entirely.
2. Build & optimize
Models get retopologized and compressed for web delivery, then wired into the configurator UI with your actual SKU/pricing data on a staging URL you can test.
3. Launch & handover
Once you approve load times on a real mid-range phone, we deploy and hand over a short guide for adding new variants yourself.
Pricing
Cost scales mainly with how many product variants need distinct 3D models rather than page complexity. Range: Rs 120,000 - 700,000 - indicative, final quote after discovery. Request a quote or WhatsApp +92 324 2991303.
Industries we serve
Furniture and home decor, fashion and footwear, jewelry, and custom manufacturing brands see the clearest return - anywhere buyers currently ask "can I see it in a different color" before purchasing.
